Running a funded and a personal account on one signal
Copying one source to a funded and a personal account is easy to set up. Whether the funded half is allowed depends on who makes the trades.
You can run a funded account and a personal account on the same trades, but the source of the trades decides whether the funded half is allowed. If you place the trades yourself, copying them from one account to the other is something the prop firm rulebooks we read permit. If a Telegram room places them, the funded account is where the firms draw the line. CopySignals is a cloud Telegram signal copier for MT4, MT5 and eTrader: it reads the rooms you already follow through your own Telegram account and places the trades on your own broker account. It also mirrors one of your connected accounts onto the others, and that second mode is the one this question turns on.
Trading carries risk on both accounts, and a funded account adds the risk of losing it to a rule breach. Read your own firm's pages before you connect anything. We checked two firms on 6 October 2026, and yours may say something different.
Can you copy the same signal to a funded and a personal account?
Technically yes, and that is the easy part. CopySignals attaches several accounts to one copier, and each account has its own sizing, maximum lot, take profit handling and break even settings. A 5,000 personal account and a 100,000 funded one can take the same post at different sizes. Our article on copying one signal to multiple accounts at different sizes shows the arithmetic.
Whether you should is a rules question, not a software one. The5ers lists "trade coordination or copy trading with other traders or accounts" among its prohibited practices, and the same page prohibits "using an EA from a provider where the trader does not own the source code". FTMO's forbidden practices page says you must not "allow any third party to access or otherwise use" your account, and it separately forbids trading "in concert with other persons" for manipulative purposes, including between connected accounts. A room that posts the trades is another party whose calls you are following.
Is copying your own trades between your own accounts allowed?
The5ers answers this one directly: "Yes, you can copy your own trades across all of your accounts without a violation." The same page adds a condition: if you hold several Bootcamp accounts, they must be traded with different strategies. A copier that sends one master to three of them gives you three accounts on one strategy, so read that condition before you attach more than one funded account.
The FTMO CFD page we read does not address copying between your own accounts. It does forbid "simultaneously entering into opposite positions" except on a single account. If you hold an FTMO CFD challenge, ask the firm in writing and keep the answer. Our article on prop firm rules and trade copiers goes through the wording in more detail.
Does it matter that the room feeds the personal account first?
It does not change where the decision came from. Suppose a Telegram room drives your personal account, and your funded account mirrors the personal one. The trades on the funded account still originate with the room. The rules above are about whose decisions are on the account, and a chain of two of your own accounts does not launder the first link. We would not build that chain, and we would not tell you the firm will not notice.
The reverse is the setup that fits the pages. You take your own entries by hand on one account, and the copier mirrors them to the others. In CopySignals any connected account can be the master: its open positions are copied to every other connected account at that account's own size, across brokers and across MT4, MT5 and eTrader. Stop and target changes on the master follow, and a position closed on the master is closed on the copies.
What to keep apart: the room on one side, the funded account on the other
Use the room on the personal account only, if you follow one, and keep the funded account for trades you decide yourself. That gives you two clean lines. The personal account is fed by the signals, with its own sizing, filters and exit rules, and nothing connects it to the funded login. The funded account is traded by hand, and if you want the same entries on a second funded account or a personal one, the account master mode carries them across.
This split costs you something. You cannot have a funded account on autopilot from a signal room, and no setting we offer changes that. If your plan depends on a room feeding a funded login, check the firm's rules first, because no copier makes the trade allowed.
Which settings should differ between the two accounts?
Everything that touches risk should be set per account, because the accounts carry different limits. The settings that matter most are these:
- Maximum lot. A hard cap on any single order, set before anything else on each account.
- Sizing. Percent of the account against the trade's own stop gives each trade a loss you chose, as a share of that account's balance. A fixed lot ignores the stop.
- Cap on open positions. It keeps open risk inside whatever daily loss limit your firm sets.
- Maximum spread and a delay before placing. Both guard against entering at a price the master never saw.
- Reverse copy. Leave it off on any account under a prop firm rulebook, since an account that sells while another buys is the pattern the opposite-positions rules describe.
The lot arithmetic for a percent rule is in our article on lot size from a risk percent. Symbol renames, prefixes and suffixes are also per account, so a broker that quotes gold as GOLD and one that quotes XAUUSD both receive an order that exists on their server. The article on symbol suffixes and broker names covers that.
Does the account master mode need a VPS?
No. CopySignals runs the MetaTrader terminals on its own servers, one per connected account, so you install nothing and keep no computer on. eTrader accounts are driven through eTrader's copytrading API. You give each MetaTrader account its server name, login and trading password, and the copier starts a terminal for it. Nothing is installed on the master either.
One limit applies to both accounts: CopySignals supports MT4, MT5 and eTrader only. If a funded account is issued on another platform, it cannot be connected. Check which platform your firm issues before you buy.
A short checklist before you attach the funded account
- Who decides the trades on this account? If it is a room, stop.
- Does the firm's page allow copying between your own accounts, and for which account type?
- If you hold several accounts at the firm, does it want them traded differently?
- Is reverse copy off on every account involved?
- What are the daily and total loss limits, and does the maximum lot, the position cap and the sizing rule fit inside them on a bad day?
- Have you run the setup on a demo account first? Our article on copying signals to a demo account first explains the steps.
What does it cost?
Every plan includes the whole product, and the plans differ only in how many trading accounts and Telegram accounts they cover. Starter is $14 a month, Basic $29 and Pro $149, with Business by email for larger setups. You pay by card or crypto, monthly, cancel any time, and there is a 30 day money back guarantee. The pricing page lists what each plan covers, and the prop firm signal copier page has the setup for funded accounts.
Our recommendation: put the room on a personal account, trade the funded account yourself, and use the account master mode if you want your own entries mirrored. If you want a room to trade a funded account, the firm has to say yes first, and the pages we read do not.
