How to copy Telegram signals to MT4
The MT4 setup from the first login to the follow-up messages, why one order per target suits MT4, and what the other copiers say about the platform.
To copy Telegram signals to MT4 you need software that is logged in to the signal room and logged in to your MT4 account at the same time, and that stays on after you close your laptop. CopySignals is a cloud Telegram signal copier for MT4, MT5 and eTrader: it reads the rooms you already follow through your own Telegram account and places the trades on your own broker account. This guide covers the MT4 setup from the first login to the follow-up messages, the parts of MT4 that shape the settings, and the other copiers that support the platform.
Is MT4 still worth copying signals to?
If your broker gave you an MT4 login, MT4 is the account you have, and it copies fine. MetaQuotes still distributes the terminal for PC, macOS, iPhone, iPad and Android, though on that download page the MetaTrader 5 section now sits above the MetaTrader 4 one. MetaQuotes describes the platform as designed for Forex and futures trading, which is where most Telegram rooms live anyway: majors, gold, indices as CFDs.
The detail that matters for a copier is how MT4 thinks about a trade. It is an order platform. Each buy or sell is its own ticket with its own stop loss and take profit, and MetaQuotes lists the toolset as 2 market orders, 4 pending orders, 2 stop orders and a trailing stop. A room that posts three take profits maps onto that cleanly: three tickets, three targets.
Copy Telegram signals to MT4 with CopySignals, step by step
Everything below happens in the browser at copysignals.io. There is no Expert Advisor to attach, no file to drop into the MT4 data folder, and nothing to keep running at home. The short version is on the Telegram to MT4 page. The long version is here.
1. Sign in with your Telegram account
You connect the Telegram account you already use to read the room. CopySignals reads through it and never sends from it, and the only thing kept is a short preview of each message on the event log. This is the step that makes a channel you do not own copyable. A bot is no use for that, because Telegram's own FAQ says bots receive all messages from channels where they are a member, and the owner of a paid room is not going to add your bot. The alternative is the Telegram API that Telegram opens up so developers can build their own customized Telegram clients. A copier built on it sees exactly what you see.
2. Pick the channel
Every channel and group your account belongs to is listed. Choose the one to copy. If you follow two rooms, make two copiers, because each room phrases things differently and deserves its own rules.
3. Connect the MT4 account
You need the server name exactly as your broker's terminal shows it, the account number and the trading password. It has to be the main password, the one you trade with. MetaQuotes documents the other one plainly: investor authorization allows you to see the account status, analyze prices, and work with your own Expert Advisors, but not trade. A copier logged in with the investor password will connect, show a balance and place nothing.
Once the account is in, CopySignals starts an MT4 terminal for it on our servers. One terminal per connected account, and that terminal places the orders, so your broker sees ordinary MT4 trades. Your own MT4 can stay closed, or open on the phone to watch.
4. Choose how the copier sizes each trade
Sizing is per account. Fixed lot puts the same size on every signal. Percent of the account is measured against the signal's own stop, so a 25 pip stop and a 90 pip stop risk the same money. The two master-based methods, a multiple of the master's lot and the master's lot scaled by balance, are for account to account copying, covered further down. Whatever you pick, a maximum lot caps it, and the cap is the setting to fill in first.
5. Decide what the targets do
Rooms post TP1, TP2, TP3. You tell CopySignals whether to split the size across the targets with weights you set, take only the first, run one order to the last, or place no take profit and let the room's messages close the trade. On MT4, splitting means one order per target, each with its own take profit set on the ticket, so the partial exits happen at the broker even if the room never posts again.
6. Match the symbol names
MT4 brokers are fond of suffixes. GOLD in the room is XAUUSD.m, XAUUSDmicro or XAUUSD.pro at the broker, and an order for the wrong name is rejected. CopySignals matches the instrument plus prefix and suffix to what your broker quotes and flags anything ambiguous before a trade goes out. It is a one-off job per account.
7. Read the event log for a day
Each message from the room appears on the event log with what the parser made of it, or the reason it was skipped. Recaps and chat are skipped and say so. Read it for a day at a small fixed lot before you move to percent sizing.
What happens after the entry on MT4
The entry is the cheap part. A room's result comes from what it posts next, and those messages are handled by the same copier: break even after the number of targets you choose or when the room says move to entry, partial close at each target, a trailing stop if you want one, and the exit when the room reports a stop hit or the final target. MT4 has a trailing stop of its own, but the copier applies its rules from the server side, on the terminal that is already logged in, so there is no dependence on your home terminal being open.
Three further controls earn their keep on MT4 accounts. A maximum spread stops the copier placing during a wide quote, which on gold around news is most of the point. A delay before placing lets a limit order sit until price is closer. A cap on open positions keeps a busy room from stacking tickets. Word filters, an instrument list and reverse copy are there too.
Do I need a VPS to copy Telegram signals to MT4?
Not with CopySignals, because the MT4 terminal for your account runs on our servers. You need a VPS when the copier is Windows software or an EA on your own machine, because then that machine has to be awake when the room posts at 3 in the morning. Our note on copying without a VPS goes through what each design leaves running at home.
Other ways to copy Telegram signals to MT4
MT4 is well served. Here is what the other copiers say about it on their own sites, checked today.
Telegram Signals Copier is Windows software. Its home page lists MT4 and MT5 among its platforms, states that a VPS or PC with Windows is required, and describes reading signals inside images with OCR. On follow-ups it advertises opening up to TP5 and an automatic stop to entry after TP1. If your room posts signals as pictures, that OCR is a real point in its favour. The cost is the Windows machine you have to keep running.
TelegramFXCopier is a cloud service that names Telegram to MT4 and MT5, says it runs entirely in the cloud with no VPS, and connects through the Telegram API rather than a bot, so it can read rooms you do not own. Its page lists moving the stop to break even after TP1, a custom trailing stop, and a percentage lot size per take profit.
TTMT, short for Telegram to MetaTrader, is also cloud based. Its site says it is compatible with any broker that supports MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, that it runs without your computer, and that it connects through the official Telegram API on your own account. It describes spreading volume across up to six take profits.
Copygram describes itself as 100% cloud based with no VPS or EA required, says any MT4 or MT5 account can be a master for other accounts, and that it reads any message format without bots or formatting rules.
All four are honest answers for MT4. The questions to ask any of them before paying are the ones we would want asked of us: how is a room you do not own read, what happens to the trade when the room posts "close half", and what stays running on your side. The 2026 comparison puts the answers side by side with every claim linked.
Copying between your own MT4 accounts
The same product does account to account copying, which is where the two master-based sizing methods come in. A connected MT4 account can be the master, and its positions are mirrored to every other connected account at that account's own size, on MT4, MT5 or eTrader at any broker. A common setup is a personal MT4 account driven by a Telegram room, mirrored to a funded account at a smaller multiple.
Things that go wrong on MT4, and the fix
The account connects but nothing is placed. Usually the investor password. Log in with the main password.
Orders rejected on one instrument only. A suffix. Check what the broker quotes and fix the mapping for that account.
A wide-stop signal took a huge position. Fixed lot does that. Switch the account to percent of balance against the stop, and lower the maximum lot.
Ten tickets open from one room. Set the cap on open positions, and use the instrument list if the room trades more symbols than you want.
The entry filled far from the room's price. Add a maximum spread and a short delay before placing.
What it costs and what to do first
CopySignals plans start at $14 a month for one trading account, $29 for three and $149 for thirty; the pricing page has the rest. Every plan is the whole product, and the plans differ only in how many trading accounts and Telegram accounts they cover. Billing is monthly by card or crypto, cancel any time, with a 30 day money back guarantee.
CopySignals is software. It is not a broker, sells no signals, gives no advice and holds no funds, and it can only place, modify and close orders on accounts you have connected. Copying a room does not take the risk out of trading it, so size for the losing run.
If you already have the MT4 login and already follow a room, connect both, set a maximum lot, and let the event log run for a day. If you are new to the idea, what a Telegram signal copier is explains the mechanics, and the MT5 guide is the same walk-through for the newer platform.
