Copy scalping signals from Telegram

Scalping rooms post short targets and tight stops, so spread, lot size and the number of open trades matter more than they do on swing signals. Here are the controls that answer each one.

To copy scalping signals from Telegram, you need a copier that reads each post, places the trade at your broker straight away, and lets you cap the things that hurt short trades: the spread, the lot and the number of open positions. CopySignals is a cloud Telegram signal copier for MT4, MT5 and eTrader: it reads the rooms you already follow through your own Telegram account and places the trades on your own broker account.

Scalping rooms are the hardest kind to copy. The targets sit a few dozen points from entry, the stop is just as close, and a room can post several calls in an hour. Small errors that do not matter on a swing signal take a large share of a scalp. This article goes through the ones that do the damage and the controls that answer them.

Why are scalping signals harder to copy than swing signals?

Because the distance between entry and target is small, so every cost is a bigger fraction of it. Suppose a room posts a gold buy with a first target 40 points away. A spread of 10 points is a quarter of that move. A fill 5 points worse than the room's price is another eighth. Neither would be worth a thought on a signal with a 400 point target.

There is also volume. A swing room might post one trade a day. A scalping room can post six, and each one opens a position on your account. If you do nothing about it, you find out how many are open when you look at the terminal.

Does speed matter when you copy scalping signals?

It matters more than it does for any other style, and it is also the thing nobody can promise you. The time from the room's post to your fill depends on your broker, the instrument and the market at that moment, so we do not quote a figure. Our article on trade copier latency explains which parts of the delay a copier controls and which belong to the broker.

What you can control is where the copier runs. CopySignals runs the MetaTrader terminal on our own servers, one per connected account, so nothing depends on your home connection or on a computer that has to stay on. You install nothing and need no VPS. A scalping signal that arrives at 3 a.m. is handled the same way as one at noon.

The setting that works against speed is the delay before placing. CopySignals lets you wait a chosen time after the signal arrives. For a scalping room that is usually switched off, because the delay is exactly the price movement you are trying to catch. The case for it, and when it helps, is in delay before placing copied trades.

How do you stop a wide spread eating a short target?

Set a maximum spread per account. CopySignals will not open a trade while the spread is wider than the limit you entered, so a thin market or a news release does not turn a 40 point target into a 15 point one. Choose the number by watching your own broker's spread on each instrument for a few sessions, then set the limit a little above the ordinary reading. The method is in the spread filter article.

A tight limit means you will miss some signals. That is the trade you are making, and on scalps it is usually the right one: a signal skipped for spread is cheaper than a trade that starts half way to its stop.

What should the lot size be for a scalping room?

Smaller than your instinct says, and tied to the stop. CopySignals can size each account four ways: a fixed lot, a percent of the account measured against the signal's own stop, a multiple of the master's lot, or the master's lot scaled by balance. All of them are capped by a maximum lot.

Percent of the account against the signal's stop suits scalping well, because the stops are tight and the lot that results can get large. That is where the maximum lot earns its place: it is the ceiling that stops a very close stop from producing an outsized position. The arithmetic is in lot size from risk percent.

A fixed lot is the plain option. It does not change with the stop, so you always know what one trade can cost at its stop on that instrument. If you are starting with a new room, begin there.

How many trades can a scalping room have open on your account?

As many as it posts, unless you set a cap. CopySignals has a cap on open positions per account. When several signals arrive close together and the cap is full, the next one is not placed. For a scalping room this is the setting that keeps total exposure in view, since each call looks small and six of them together are not. See the open positions cap for how to choose the number.

It matters most on a prop firm account, where a daily loss limit is fixed. Read your firm's own rules on copying and on holding several positions before you connect one.

Does CopySignals manage the trade after entry?

Yes, and with scalps this part is quicker than with any other style. Rooms often post "move to break even" or "take half off" within minutes of the entry. CopySignals handles the whole life of the trade: break even after a chosen number of targets, a partial close at each target, a trailing stop, and the exit when the room reports a stop or the last target. You can split the take profits across the targets with custom weights, take only the first, run to the last, or use none.

On a short trade the choice between those is the strategy. Taking most of the position off at the first target and moving the rest to break even gives a different trade from running everything to the last target, with the same signal. Our piece on break even and partial close shows how the follow-up messages are read.

What does the copier skip, and how do you see it?

A post that does not read as a trade is skipped, and the reason is written on the event log. Scalping rooms post a lot of chatter between calls: screenshots, "target hit", "wait for the next one". Word filters and an instrument list let you narrow what the copier acts on, and the log shows each decision, so you can compare what the room posted with what happened on your account.

If you use a symbol suffix at your broker, set the rename and the prefix or suffix before the first live signal, since a scalp that fails on a symbol name is gone by the time you notice.

What CopySignals does not do for scalpers

It does not make a room's signals good, and it does not choose a room for you. It supports MT4, MT5 and eTrader only, so accounts on any other platform cannot be connected. It cannot beat your broker's execution speed or remove slippage, which can be large on a fast market. Trading carries risk, and short trades concentrate it.

A setup to start with

  1. Connect a demo account at the same broker as your live one, so spreads and symbol names match.
  2. Use a fixed lot, no delay, a maximum spread a little above the ordinary reading, and a cap on open positions.
  3. Choose how the take profits are split, and whether break even applies after the first target.
  4. Copy the room for a week, then read the event log against what the room posted.
  5. Move to live at the smallest lot only when the skips and fills look as you expected.

Every plan includes the whole product, from $14 a month, with a 30 day money back guarantee, so the demo costs you nothing extra to try; see the plans. The setup steps for MT5 are on the Telegram to MT5 page.

Usually not, because the delay is price movement you are trying to catch. CopySignals offers it, but most scalping setups leave it off and rely on a maximum spread instead.
