Local Trade Copier alternative: CopySignals vs Local Trade Copier
Local Trade Copier runs on your own PC or VPS and copies between MetaTrader accounts. CopySignals runs in the cloud and reads Telegram rooms. Here is how they differ, from Local Trade Copier's own pages.
The Local Trade Copier alternative to pick depends on one question: do you want to copy between MetaTrader platforms on a computer you keep running, or copy a Telegram room from the cloud? Local Trade Copier says it runs on your own PC or VPS, while CopySignals runs the terminals on our servers and reads signal rooms. The two overlap less than the names suggest.
CopySignals is a cloud Telegram signal copier for MT4, MT5 and eTrader: it reads the rooms you already follow through your own Telegram account and places the trades on your own broker account. We make it, so treat that as the vendor's sentence. What follows about Local Trade Copier comes from its own pages, read on 7 October 2026 and linked where each fact appears.
What is Local Trade Copier?
Local Trade Copier is a copier that moves trades between MetaTrader accounts on one machine. Its home page describes software that copies trades directly between MetaTrader accounts, and lists MT4 to MT4, MT5 to MT5, MT4 to MT5 and MT5 to MT4, and its title also names a third platform. The how it works page explains the setup: a Server EA runs on the master account and a Client EA on each account that follows it.
It is a mature, specific tool and it does that job with a long list of settings. If your whole need is mirroring one MetaTrader account onto others on your own machine, it is a reasonable choice and we are not trying to talk you out of it.
Does Local Trade Copier copy Telegram signals?
The pages we read do not mention Telegram. Neither its home page, its features page nor its how it works page describes reading a signal room. Its source is a master MetaTrader account. If it offers a Telegram route elsewhere on its site, we did not find it, and you should ask the vendor.
That is the main difference. CopySignals reads a Telegram room through your own personal Telegram account, so any room you already belong to can be copied, including one somebody else owns. It parses free text into instrument, side, entry or entry zone, stop loss and every take profit, and a post that does not read as a trade is skipped with the reason on the event log. For the longer version of how that works, see copying a Telegram channel you do not own.
Does it need a VPS or a computer that stays on?
Yes, by its own description. The how it works page says all MT4 platforms must be running on the same computer and that they must be running all the time. The features page lists Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 2012 as supported systems, and the home page adds Mac through Wine.
So if you want it to copy overnight, something has to be switched on overnight, at home or on a rented Windows VPS. CopySignals runs one MetaTrader terminal per connected account on its own servers. You install nothing and rent no VPS, and your PC can be off. The trade-offs of each model are laid out in running a copier in the cloud or on your own machine.
Running locally has a real upside: the software works on your machine and your IP address, which some traders prefer. We are not going to argue that cloud is better for everyone.
What happens after the entry?
A signal room posts the entry once and then keeps talking: "move to break even", "close half at TP1", "stopped out". CopySignals reads those follow-ups. It moves to break even after a number of targets you choose, closes a share at each target, trails the stop and exits when the room reports a stop or the last target. Take profits can be split with your own weights, first only, run to the last, or none.
Local Trade Copier has no room to read, so it handles the master's trade, not a chat. Its features page lists partial close support and options to multiply, fix or remove the stop loss and take profit on copied trades. Those follow what the master account does. When your signal source is a Telegram room and the manager of the trade is the room's follow-up posts, that is what CopySignals is built around. The mechanics are in break even and partial close from signal updates.
How do the sizing and filters compare?
Local Trade Copier is generous here. Its features page lists lot modes including auto-adjust to account size, multiply by X, fixed lot size, risk per trade as a percentage and risk per trade as money. It also lists filters for symbol, trade type, magic number, comment, trade size, margin, equity, time of day and weekday, and automatic pair suffix detection for brokers that name symbols differently.
CopySignals sizes each account as a fixed lot, a percent of the account measured against the signal's own stop, a multiple of the master's lot, or the master's lot scaled by balance, always under a maximum lot. Its controls are symbol renames with prefix and suffix, word filters, an instrument list, a delay before placing, a maximum spread, a cap on open positions and reverse copy. Local Trade Copier lists a reverse trades mode too. Its filter list is longer than ours, notably the equity, margin and time filters, which we do not list. Our percent mode is described in lot size from risk percent.
Which platforms does each support?
Local Trade Copier lists MetaTrader 4 and 5 on its features page, and the home page names a third platform beyond those. CopySignals supports MT4, MT5 and eTrader only, with eTrader accounts driven through eTrader's copytrading API. Every other platform is unsupported by us, so if an account on that third platform is part of your plan, Local Trade Copier lists it and we cannot help.
For copying between your own accounts, both do it. In CopySignals a connected trading account can be the master, and its positions are mirrored to every other account at its own size, across brokers and platforms, in the same plan as the Telegram copier. The setup is in copying trades between MT4 and MT5.
Can you try it first?
Local Trade Copier's home page encourages you to try the free trial first before buying and says that refunds are limited and subject to conditions. CopySignals has a 30 day money back guarantee on every plan, billed monthly by card or crypto, cancel any time.
Local Trade Copier vs CopySignals, compared
| Signal source | Where it runs | Platforms | Sizing | Refunds | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| CopySignals | A Telegram room through your own account, or a connected account as master | Our servers, one terminal per account | MT4, MT5, eTrader | Fixed, percent against the signal's stop, multiple of master, scaled by balance, capped by a maximum lot | 30 day money back guarantee |
Which one should you pick?
Pick Local Trade Copier if you already run MetaTrader on a machine that stays on, your source is another MetaTrader account, you want its long filter list, or you need the third platform it names. Pick CopySignals if your source is a Telegram room, you want the room's follow-up posts acted on, and you would rather not keep a PC or VPS running. Our MT4 and MT5 trade copier page shows the product, and the list of MT4 and MT5 trade copiers places both in the wider market.
Every CopySignals plan is the whole product, from $14 a month; see pricing. A copier places what its source sends and does not make the source's calls good. Trading carries risk, so try either one on a demo account first.
