Copy Telegram signals to MT5 from your phone

The MT5 app is a screen for your account, not a place for a copier to run. Here is how copying works when you own a phone and no always-on computer.

You can copy Telegram signals to MT5 from your phone only if the copier runs somewhere other than the phone. The MT5 app on a phone is a place to look at and manage an account, and it is not where an automated copier lives. CopySignals is a cloud Telegram signal copier for MT4, MT5 and eTrader: it reads the rooms you already follow through your own Telegram account and places the trades on your own broker account, so the phone only has to be a screen. This article is for the trader who has no desktop to leave switched on and wants to know what that setup looks like in practice.

Can you copy Telegram signals to MT5 with only a phone?

Yes, when the copier is in the cloud. A copier that runs inside your own terminal needs that terminal open and connected all day, and a phone is a poor host for that. A cloud copier keeps the connection to the room and to your broker on its own servers, and your phone is used to read the signals, check the positions and step in by hand when you want to.

MetaQuotes describes its mobile apps as a way to trade "anytime and anywhere", with a one tap buy and sell. The page we read does not mention expert advisors or copying at all. So the app is good for the manual half of your trading, and the automatic half has to come from somewhere else.

We call that somewhere else a cloud copier. The longer explanation of what it replaces is in copying Telegram signals without a VPS, and the landing page for the whole idea is Telegram copier with no VPS.

Why does automatic copying need a computer somewhere?

Because something has to be awake when the signal arrives. Signals come at any hour, and the order has to go out in the minute after the post, not when you next look at your phone. MetaQuotes offers a hosting service for this reason: its VPS page says it lets signals and trading robots work around the clock without your own computer running all the time or holding an internet connection open.

That is the rented-machine answer, and it is a fair one. You pay for a Windows machine, install your terminal on it, install the copier or expert advisor, and look after it. Our article on cloud and desktop copiers compares the two designs. For a phone-only trader the point is smaller: whichever you choose, the machine is not in your pocket.

With CopySignals the terminals run on our servers, one per connected account, so you install nothing and rent no VPS. eTrader accounts are driven through eTrader's copytrading API. Nothing in this list needs a computer of yours to be on.

What do you still need to do on a computer?

Possibly nothing, but we do not claim that the setup screens are built for a phone, and we have not written a phone setup guide. The first setup is the part where you make choices that matter: which room, which account, how big each trade is, and what the copier does after the entry. Do it somewhere you can read the screen properly, and read the event log afterwards.

The steps themselves are the same on any device:

  1. Connect your MT5 account with the broker server, login and trading password.
  2. Sign in to Telegram with your own personal account. Any room you are already a member of can be copied, including one somebody else owns.
  3. Choose the room, then the account the trades go to.
  4. Set a maximum lot and one sizing method: a fixed lot, a percent of the account measured against the signal's own stop, a multiple of the master's lot, or the master's lot scaled by balance.
  5. Choose what happens after the entry: break even after a number of targets, a partial close at each target, a trailing stop, and the exit when the room reports a stop or the last target.
  6. Match the symbol names to your broker with a prefix, a suffix or renames, then watch a few signals on a demo account.

The full walk through is in how to copy Telegram signals to MT5.

What should you check on the phone each day?

Three things, and they take a minute. Open the MT5 app and look at the open positions and the account balance. Look at the room's latest posts in Telegram, because you are the one who knows whether it said something odd. Then open the copier's event log, where every post that was skipped is listed with the reason.

A skipped post is not a fault. A message that does not read as a trade, such as a chart picture or a chat reply, is skipped by design. What you are looking for is a real signal that did not become an order, and that is a symbol name or a filter to fix once.

What if you want to stop a trade from your phone?

You can close or modify a position in the MT5 app like any other trade on the account, because it is your own account and the copier is one more thing placing orders on it. The copier can only place, modify and close orders on the accounts you connected, and it does nothing else. A trade you close by hand is still a trade the room may post about later, so read the event log after you step in.

Two controls help a phone-only trader who cannot watch the screen all day. A maximum spread stops an order going out into a stretched quote, as covered in the maximum spread filter. A delay before placing holds the order for a few seconds, which gives a room time to correct a typo in its own post, see delay before placing copied trades. A cap on open positions limits how many trades can stack up while you are asleep.

What does CopySignals not do for a phone-only trader?

It does not trade on platforms other than MT4, MT5 and eTrader. If your broker gives you only another platform, CopySignals cannot connect it. It does not move money, advise on rooms or promise a result: we are not a broker, not a signal seller and not a money manager. Copying also repeats the room's losing trades as faithfully as its winning ones, and trading carries risk. A phone that is always with you is a reason to check the log, not a reason to leave the sizing loose.

What does it cost?

Starter is $14 a month, Basic is $29 and Pro is $149, with Business by email for more. Every plan is the whole product, and the plans differ only in how many trading accounts and Telegram accounts they cover. Billing is monthly by card or crypto, you can cancel any time, and there is a 30 day money back guarantee. The details are on the pricing page.

If you trade from a phone, pick a copier that runs in the cloud, set it up once with care on a demo account, and use the phone to watch it.
