Telegram signal copier for stocks and share CFDs

Stock signals fail on the ticker name before they fail on anything else. What to map, how to size a share and which filters to set before a room's stock calls reach your account.

A Telegram signal copier can trade stocks if your broker lists the share as a symbol on your MT4, MT5 or eTrader account and the copier can match the ticker in the room's post to that symbol. The matching is where stock signals go wrong, because a ticker such as "TSLA" is rarely written the same way on your account. CopySignals is a cloud Telegram signal copier for MT4, MT5 and eTrader: it reads the rooms you already follow through your own Telegram account and places the trades on your own broker account. The Telegram to MT5 page shows the product.

Can a Telegram signal copier trade stocks?

Yes, with one condition that has nothing to do with the copier: the share has to exist as a tradable symbol on your account. CopySignals reads the instrument from free text, then places the order on whatever symbol you have mapped it to. It does not treat a share differently from a currency pair or an index in how it reads the post.

What it cannot do is create a market your broker does not offer. Many MetaTrader brokers list shares as CFDs, some list a few dozen names, some list none. Open the market watch in your terminal and search for the tickers your room posts before you pay for anything. If the symbol is not there, no setting will conjure it.

Why do stock signals fail on the ticker name?

Because the room writes one thing and your broker lists another. A room says "AAPL". Your broker may show "AAPL", "AAPL.US", "AAPL.NAS", "#AAPL" or a name with an extra letter on the end. Each of those is a different string, and a copier that cannot match the string cannot place the trade.

You deal with this in three places in CopySignals, all set per trading account:

  • A symbol rename, which maps the room's word to the exact symbol your broker quotes.
  • A prefix or suffix, which you match to whatever your broker adds to every symbol.
  • An instrument list, so that only the markets you chose are traded and anything else the room mentions is skipped.

Copy the symbol text from your own terminal into the rename, character for character, instead of typing it from memory. The reasoning on prefixes and suffixes is in symbol suffix and broker names, and the list itself is covered in the instrument list.

A post that does not read as a trade is skipped, with the reason on the event log. A ticker that cannot be matched falls in the same bucket. The first days of the event log show you every name the room uses that you have not mapped yet.

How do you size a stock signal?

Do not carry over the lot you use on a currency pair. A share CFD lot can mean one share, ten shares or a hundred, depending on the broker, and the value of a price move differs from symbol to symbol. The contract size and the minimum volume are on the symbol specification in your terminal. Read them for each share you plan to trade.

CopySignals offers a fixed lot, a percent of the account measured against the signal's own stop, a multiple of the master's lot, or the master's lot scaled by balance. A Telegram post carries a stop but usually no lot, so for a room the fixed lot and the percent mode are the two that apply. Percent sizing works the lot back from the distance between the entry and the stop, which suits a share whose price is in the hundreds and whose stop is a few dollars away. The arithmetic is in lot size from risk percent.

Whatever you choose, fill in the maximum lot. A tight stop on an expensive share can work out a position far larger than you meant, and the ceiling is what stops it. Trading carries risk, and a cap reduces only one kind of it.

What about spread and trading hours on shares?

Share CFDs follow the hours and the liquidity of the market behind them. Spreads are often widest right after the open and in thin hours, and a signal that looks fine in the room can reach your broker while the spread is several times normal. A maximum spread setting makes the copier skip the trade, with the reason on the log, instead of entering at a poor price. It is described in the maximum spread filter.

Rooms also post outside the hours your broker accepts orders on a share. What happens to a signal that arrives while the market is shut is a question for your own demo account, and a signal posted when the market is closed goes through how to test it. Check your broker's trading hours for each symbol, since they differ from the forex week.

Entry zones, targets and the rest of the trade

Stock rooms often post a zone, for example a buy between two prices, with a stop and two or three targets. CopySignals reads the entry zone, the stop and every take profit, and handles the whole life of the trade: break even after a chosen number of targets, partial close at each target, a trailing stop, and the exit when the room reports a stop or the last target.

Take profits can be split across the targets with your own weights, placed on the first only, run to the last, or left out. On a share CFD the pieces must be sizes your broker accepts, so work out the smallest volume first. If your lot is 0.10 and the minimum step is 0.10, you cannot cut it three ways. Multiple take profits explained has a worked split.

Does it work on eTrader?

Yes. CopySignals supports MT4, MT5 and eTrader, and the same signal can go to accounts on all three. The MetaTrader terminals run on our servers, one per connected account, so you install nothing and rent no VPS. eTrader accounts are driven through eTrader's copytrading API. Which shares you can trade on an eTrader account is decided by that account, so look at the instruments it offers before you map a ticker. The eTrader copy trading accounts article covers how the connection works.

What CopySignals does not do for stock signals

  • It supports MT4, MT5 and eTrader only. A stock broker on any other platform cannot be connected.
  • It does not give a view on any room, any share or any market. Whether a stock room is worth following is your decision.
  • It is not a broker. It can only place, modify and close orders on accounts you connected.

A setup checklist for a stock room

  1. Search your terminal for every ticker the room posts and write down the exact symbol, including any prefix or suffix.
  2. Connect your own Telegram account and the trading account, as described in how to copy Telegram signals to MT5. MT4 and eTrader follow the same steps.
  3. Add the symbol renames, then an instrument list holding only those shares.
  4. Read the contract size and minimum volume, choose the sizing method and set the maximum lot.
  5. Set a maximum spread and decide whether to add a delay.
  6. Choose the take profit split and the break even rule.
  7. Run a demo account for a few days and compare each placed symbol, lot and exit with the room's posts on the event log. Copy signals to a demo account first explains why.
  8. Go live at a small size and raise it once the log holds no surprises.

If your room trades indices as well, the indices guide covers the same mapping problem for US30 and its relatives.

Which plan fits a stock room?

Every plan includes the whole product and differs only in how many trading accounts and Telegram accounts it covers. Starter is $14 a month, Basic is $29 and Pro is $149, with Business by email for more. Payment is by card or crypto, monthly, cancel any time, with a 30 day money back guarantee. One room on one account fits the smallest plan: map the tickers on a demo, then go live. The pricing page lists the account counts.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, if your broker lists the share on your MT4, MT5 or eTrader account. CopySignals reads the instrument from the post and places the order on the symbol you mapped it to, using a rename plus any broker prefix or suffix.
Most often the ticker in the post did not match a symbol on your account, or it was outside your instrument list. The CopySignals event log shows the reason for each skipped post, so you can add the missing rename.
Check the contract size and minimum volume on your broker's symbol specification, then use a fixed lot or a percent of the account measured against the signal's stop. Always fill in the maximum lot as a cap.
CopySignals supports MT4, MT5 and eTrader only. A stock account on any other platform cannot be connected.
